Sarah Watling was the 2016 winner of the Tony Lothian Prize and a 2020 Silvers Grant recipient. In 2022, she was a Writer in Residence at Gladstone’s Library. She holds degrees from the University of Cambridge and the University of London. Her biography of the four Olivier sisters, Noble Savages, was published in 2019 and was a Book of the Year in the Times and the New Statesman. Tomorrow Perhaps the Future: Following Writers and Rebels in the Spanish Civil War was published in 2023. She has written for The Guardian, the Times Literary Supplement, Vogue, the Telegraph, the European Review of Books, Apollo, Airmail and other places.
